Green International University (GIU) proudly concluded the Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition 2026, Internal Competition, reaffirming its commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-academia collaboration. The event provided an exceptional platform for students to transform creative ideas into impactful solutions while promoting a culture of research, innovation, and startup development.
The initiative was organized under the visionary leadership of Dr. Muhammad Hamza Amin, Deputy Chairman, Board of Governors, whose unwavering commitment to innovation and entrepreneurial excellence continues to strengthen GIU's ecosystem of creativity, research, and future-focused education. The University also acknowledges the continued guidance and encouragement of Prof. Dr. Mubbesher Munawar Khan, Rector, Green International University, whose academic leadership inspires students to pursue innovation with confidence, purpose, and excellence. The event commenced with an inspiring keynote address by Mr. Muhammad Afzal, Executive Director Academics & Institutional Performance, who emphasized the critical role of innovation, industry collaboration, and entrepreneurial thinking in preparing students to address future challenges and seize emerging opportunities. The competition was successfully organized by the Business Incubation Center (BIC) under the leadership of Mr. Ch. Zia-ur-Rehman, whose dedicated team played a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing this flagship innovation initiative.
The internal competition witnessed remarkable participation from across the University, bringing together more than 500 students representing 15 academic departments. Participants presented 134 innovative projects covering diverse disciplines and real-world challenges. Each project underwent a comprehensive evaluation by an eight-member evaluation committee, including six distinguished industry experts, ensuring transparency, quality, and industry relevance throughout the assessment process. Following the evaluation, 25 outstanding projects were shortlisted to advance to the next stage of the Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition 2026.
